The City of Walnut encourages transparency and public participation in its governing process and provides reasonable accessibility to all public records except those documents exempt from disclosure and in accordance with the Public Records Act, Government Code Section 6250 et seq.
The City has ten calendar days (subject to extensions in some circumstances) to respond to the requestor whether it has disclosable records responsive to the request and the estimated date the records will be available. Document production depends on the ease of the request and staff availability.
There is no fee for making a public records request; however, the City may charge for the cost of duplication if a requester wishes to have a physical copy of records.
If you would like to request copies of public documents, the City offers three ways for you to do so at your convenience:
