In Case of Emergency, Call 9-1-1
The City of Walnut’s primary public safety services are provided by the County of Los Angeles. The L.A. County Fire Department serves residents and business operators from two sites within the city, and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department support is dispatched from the Walnut substation facility located on Valley Blvd.

Home Security System - False Alarm Notices
Walnut City Code Section 3.40.110 states that after any false alarm, the City of Walnut may request a written report from the alarm owner describing the action taken to eliminate the cause of future false alarms.
In addition to any other penalty enforcement procedure provided in the City’s Ordinance, the alarm owner must pay a service fee of $72.50 for each false alarm in excess of the initial three false alarms in any 12 month period.

If you would like the Sheriff's Department to check on your residence while you're on vacation, please fill out the vacation check form and turn it into the Walnut Sheriff's Station.

Automated License Plate Reader Cameras
The City of Walnut is using Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras and technology to capture photographs of vehicle license plates in efforts to deter criminal activity.
The City will also be working closely with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office to aid law enforcement in its detection and investigation of crimes.
ALPR cameras are placed throughout the City in various locations, which were considered by both City staff members and the LASD.
