All aquatics programing takes place at the Walnut High School pool located at 400 N. Pierre Road, Walnut, CA 91789.

Important Aquatics Policies:

• The City of Walnut Recreation Services reserves the right to cancel any class that falls below the minimum required enrollment.
• Pool Closure: Occasionally the pool may have forced closures due to unexpected accidents or inclement weather, or maintenance required by Walnut High School.  Staff will do it’s best to inform participants immediately of all closures. In the event of a closure, we will be unable to make up any missed classes. There will be no proration of class fees for missed classes due to unexpected pool closures.
• Smog Policy: The South Coast Air Quality Management team states that all strenuous physical activities which require mouth breathing should be discontinued with 1st stage smog alerts. The City of Walnut Community Services will strictly adhere to this policy and close the swimming program at any time there is a 1st stage smog alert.
• Refund/Transfer Policy: There will be a $10 service charge per class per person on ALL REQUESTED REFUNDS AND TRANSFERS. Refunds will only be considered if requested seven business days in advance of the first class meeting. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THAT TIME UNLESS INITIATED BY THE DEPARTMENT. Transfers will be allowed if there is space available in the class they want to transfer to. We will not over enroll a class to accommodate a transfer.

Walnut Sharks Swim Team: FALL

Sharks Swim Team takes place during the summer season and offers a conditioning program during Spring and Fall. New swimmers must attend a try-out during which they must meet the minimum requirements set forth by the Sharks’ Head Coach. 

The Walnut Sharks Swim Team is designed for children ages 6 to 18 who are interested in swimming competitively. This is a conditioning program to prepare for the Summer Swim team. 

Sharks Fall Conditioning will begin September 16, 2024 to November 6, 2024
