A second program available to Walnut residents age 60 and older who are sick, have a chronic disease, or who are homebound is the Greater La Puente Valley Meals on Wheels. Meals are packaged at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina and delivered by volunteers and supported by minimal contributions from clients and the rest from donors. The cost for two meals per day (one hot, one cold, delivered at the same time) is $5.00. Other criteria apply. Call (626) 333-4570 for more information. Meals on Wheels is currently in need of volunteers. Please visit the Meals on Wheels website for more information.
